Smart energy solutions company Ignites will supply electricity generated by its wind farm in Mažeikiai to Akmenes Cementas , Lithuania. Three out of five cement samples that the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) collected in a market surveillance operation failed the standards test. Cambodia’s domestic cement production remained unchanged in volume in 2023 compared to a year before, reports the Cambodian Cement Manufacturing Association. Steppe Cement Ltd recorded 11 per cent revenue growth in 2022 to KZT40m (US$86,560) from KZT36m a year earlier, citing positive market conditions as it focussed on the Kazakh domestic market. The negative trend in cement dispatches in Pakistan has continued in the last few months. The latest data for 1HFY22-23 and December 2022 show the sector has been affected by a slowdown in the local construction industry and unviable exports.
